The National Housing Supply and Affordability Council convened virtually on 29 November 2024 for its final meeting of the calendar year.
The Council continued to focus its effort on developing content for its State of the Housing System 2025 report, including the Council’s assessment of current supply and demand conditions and housing affordability, the long‑term outlook for supply, demand and affordability and the Council’s vision and recommendations for housing policy in Australia.
Kerren Crosthwaite, First Assistant Secretary Housing Division at Treasury, led a discussion on current and recently announced Commonwealth housing policy and heard the Council’s views on a range of aspects of policy.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for 16 January 2025.
